Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Short Surahs mobile application (“the App”) handles information. The App is an offline Quran reading and listening experience for selected short surahs, Al-Fatihah, and Ayat al-Kursi.

1. Summary

The App is designed to work primarily offline. It does not require an account, does not sell personal data, and does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current version.

2. Information We Collect

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

• Reading preferences such as font size, transliteration visibility, and view mode
• Language preference (for example English or Russian)
• Temporary playback state needed to play and control audio

This information stays on your device and is used only to provide App features. The App does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos, or payment information.

3. Audio and Background Playback

The App plays bundled local audio files. When you use playback, the App may continue audio in the background and show standard media controls on the lock screen and in Control Center. This uses Apple system media features and does not transmit your listening history to our servers.

4. Feedback and External Links

If you use the in-app feedback option, your device may open the Mail app so you can send a message. Any content you choose to send is handled by your email provider under that provider’s policies.

If you choose Rate the App, your device may open the App Store. Apple’s privacy practices apply to App Store activity.

5. Data Storage and Retention

Preferences are stored locally using standard iOS storage mechanisms such as UserDefaults. You can remove locally stored App data by deleting the App from your device.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not create accounts or collect personal data for registration, it is suitable for general audiences as a religious reading app.

7. Third-Party Services

The current iOS version does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or social-login providers. If this changes in a future update, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to design the App so that sensitive personal data is not collected. Because preferences remain on-device, their security also depends on your device passcode, system updates, and Apple platform protections.

9. Your Choices

• You can change language and reading settings at any time in the App
• You can stop audio playback at any time
• You can delete the App to remove locally stored preferences

10. International Users

The App may be used in different countries. Because processing is primarily on-device, data generally does not leave your device through the App itself.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when updates are published. Continued use of the App after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
